Your smartphones will only connect to the Kingmaker. There is no option to dial a number, instead it will connect automatically to his phone.

[ Same deal as last night, though Black's idly opening and closing one of the lighters he got out of the vending machine a few weeks ago. It's very audible. ]

Nothing much happened today, except Miss Sigrun talked to Glory again and asked them a few questions about Ambitious. They say he's always been crazy and that he did killed someone because someone he loved got killed. [ ... ] And that he hates you.

[ Open, shut, open, shut. ]

Glory said that you'd be mad if we tried to get in contact with him. Or—you'd be even more mad at us than you already are if we did. [ He stops playing with his lighter and, a little thoughtfully asks, ] Are you mad at us?

[It takes him a little bit to answer, but he sounds exactly the same as always when he does.]

Do you all really believe everything Glory says?

Some of us do. I don't know how much I believe them. [ The Kingmaker never sounds particularly mad when they're talking, after all.

But it's not like they're short on actors, either. ] I was just curious if any of that was true.

Ultimately you all are going to believe what you want to and you're more likely to listen to anyone who isn't me.

But I'm surprised you'd trust someone who has only made an appearance this late in the game.

You're smart to be wary of what you hear from them. I don't expect the others to follow your example though.

They've been... I'd say "more forthcoming with information," but I'm honestly not sure if they have been. They're generally nicer when they refuse to share, though they got mad at Miss Sigrun today when she tried to press the issue of getting in contact with Ambitious. She really wants to talk to that ghost, since he's the only one we haven't had direct contact with.

[ The note about the Kingmaker on the second floor aside. ]

I think it's smarter not to trust either of you—not too much, I mean? Not... placing our full trust you or them, I guess, is what I'm getting at here.

That's the smartest way to go about it. You're not required to believe everything I say and a bit of caution goes a long way.

...Why is Boundless so determined to talk to Ambitious? She'd get nothing out of him.

He's the only one she hasn't talked to. [ ... ] Well, she hasn't talked to our dead either, but we've been in contact with them in general. He's also the one we know the least about in general.

And, well, she's a force of nature. I'm sure she thinks she could bully a little information out of him the way she's done you. [ ...maybe "bully" isn't the right word

on the other hand, this is Sigrun they're talking about. ]

I doubt it would work. Talking to Ambitious is like talking to a brick wall, except the wall would probably be easier to get information from.

Besides, you don't need to know anything about him. He's not important.

[ ...cool, he got some information on Ambitious from the KM, how about that. GRANTED, IT'S PRETTY MUCH AN OPINION, however. ]

You really don't get along with him, do you.

Nope. I doubt anyone could get along with him though.

There really isn't any reason to worry about him. You all have more important things to focus on.

What happens after we lose? Aside from... dying, I suppose. It's shown most of our souls persist after death, even the bird's. Would you just leave us here, or would you get did of us?

Maybe, maybe not. I'm surprised you're assuming you're going to lose. Or are you just humoring me?

I don't know what we're up against. You've managed to keep us here this long we don't have any of our powers--as far as we can tell--and you've already told me you don't make promises you don't intend to deliver on if one of us gets away with murder.

Even if we found you, I don't know if we'd be able to beat you, or... whatever. Our odds aren't exactly looking good right now.

It's easier to assume the worst until it looks like there's a chance to get something better than that.

I prefer the cautious approach. It's better than death threats.

As long as you all follow the rules there won't be any problems. Keep that in mind.

Of course. Most of us have been following them surprisingly well. [ retaliations aside. ] You haven't even had to add any rules.

I'm a little surprised by that. I thought I might need to, but you're all well-behaved.

For the most part. Miss Sigrun is convinced there's something behind the vending machine and she wants to push it over. She hasn't made any progress though.

Her fascination with that machine is baffling. There really isn't anything back there. If she damages it, I'm not replacing it.

Rumor has it there's a hidden corridor on the first floor. [ but you shouldn't believe all rumors, etc etc ] That's what she thinks is there.

I don't know where it could be if it's real, except maybe the women's bathroom.

I guess I shouldn't be surprised that you guys came up with rumors, but there's nothing to find behind the vending machine.
